Gauging ocean Organic Carbon fluxes using Autonomous Robotic Technologies (GOCART)

The project ended in 2022; its website projects.noc.ac.uk/gocart is no longer available.

The GOCART project aimed to address the challenges of climate change caused by CO2 emissions from human activities. It focused on understanding the ocean’s biological carbon pump, which is crucial for regulating atmospheric CO2 levels. The project used innovative glider technology to study temporal variability in carbon flux and remineralisation depth, contributing valuable insights into ocean carbon storage.
